Project Objectives:

The main objectives of the project are:

1.     Thinking about the conceptual design of the handling mobile robot as a mechatronic system, in which the concurrent design approach (mechanical + electrical) is mainly followed.

2.     Preparation of the Mechanical & Electrical hardware (assembly drawing & working drawing of the involved mechanism schematic and working diagrams & the electronic layout).

3.     Implementation of both the mechanical & electronic hardware to get a first prototype of the proposed robot.

4.     Design and Implementation of the computer interfacing circuits and also the software necessary to operate the system.

5.     Performing all necessary hardware connection and carrying out some performance tests on each stage.

6.     Using the robot for participation in the international robot contest ROBOCON 2003.

7.     Design and Implementation of a modified robot that can be used as a handling mobile robot in an FMS.
